Hello!
Much like people who go to NASCAR races, you are probably here to watch what's sure to be one disaster after another while I spend a week in Dubai. Welcome!
I figured this blog would be a good way to share pictures/videos/stories with anyone who's interested. I hope to update it regularly, assuming I don't have any problems with internet access.
I won't have access to a phone until I return on Friday 10/19.. but please e-mail me or click "comments" at the bottom of this posting to leave a message, and I'll get back to you!
The taxi picks me up at 4:30 tomorrow morning. I'll fly to JFK, then, after a layover of a few hours, it's a direct flight to Dubai (which should take about 13 hours.)
Dubai is 8 hours ahead of us (East coast time), so I'll be arriving there Thursday morning.
OK, back to packing!

OK, so Dave "plans" to spend the next 9 days in Dubai. I figure the over/under on how long he lasts is about 4 days...I'm taking the under.

It's 5:30am on Thursday and I figure you are sitting at Hopkins awaiting your flight. I will eagerly be checking your blog to see if Chris is accurate in his bet, and to see how you are surviving the culture shock and the heat. Good luck on the 13 hour flight.

I'm not sure which is funnier...the fact that your heading to Dubai or the fact that people are finding this and posting "invitations" for you to their businesses...afraid to see what other kind of other "invitations" you'll get. This could be your lucky day! (Or at least 4 of them as some people are betting.)

Once again, a major news story in Cleveland and Dave seems to "conveniently" be out of town. I think we need to get the I-Team on this one.
It's Thursday morning, WELCOME to DUBAI!! Hope you had a calm and relaxing 13 hours on the plane. Good god, how many meals do they serve on that flight?
